Corporate details
Challenger's white label mobile VoIP platform is offered by Mobile Business Challenger MBC AB (publ), a Swedish company that has developed the next generation mobile internet telephony.
Milestones
Challenger was founded in 2001. Since that date the company has become a leading player in the development of mobile VoIP technology.
2007
The first Challenger mobile mVoIP platform is introduced. It is a complete solution that is offered as white label (so that operators and service providers can present the service under their own brand) and has a very short time to market.
Development of the mobile VoIP platform continues and the showcase, www.challengermobile.com, expands into offering new pre-pay features.
2003 - 2006
The softphone and callback applications prove successful, gaining popularity and a customer base all over the world. Their development continues, and by 2006 they are supported on several new phones and PDAs, such as the latest BlackBerry devices.
The company develops a CRM, payment model and account management system that works well towards an online interface for internet telephony services.
Challenger starts development of services for mobile internet telephony, mVoIP.
Challenger releases an operator level mVoIP service and launches a new showcase, www.challengermobile.com, to demonstrate the appeal. The showcase is a success.
2002
Following forward-looking market analysis Challenger shifts its strategy to focus on internet telephony and international calling services.
Two new products are developed and brought to the market; a softphone and a call-back application for mobiles.
2001
The company, Mobile Business Challenger AB (“Challenger”), was founded by a team of engineers who were working on an R&D project at Linköping University, Sweden. Initial products served high-traffic call centres of large companies with load balancing and optimization, online contact centre solutions and voice broadcast products.
This same year Challenger also started operating its own carrier grade telecom system under PTS (the Swedish telecom authority) regulation.
