What is mVoIP?
Mobile VoIP frees enterprises and consumers from using mobile minutes when they have access to a wireless network, in turn saving them money. In order to do this the subscriber needs:
- A handset that supports internet telephony – many such handsets are already available from major brands such as Nokia and SonyEriccson
- An operator or service provider that can configure the handsets for use and supply the services that enable calls to be made and received
The mVoIP market
Ordinary VoIP services, delivered through a computer terminal, have rapidly been taken up by subscribers around the world. In freeing subscribers from the need to use their computer, mVoIP will be the single most enabling technology for mobile subscribers, offering signifcant added value and functionality.
